This program provides a fun and exciting
way to promote reading and to strengthen independent reading comprehension
at home and at school. Throughout the year the children read books within their reading level
and then take AR tests either in their classroom or in the computer lab
to earn points. The reading level is determined by the teacher in the
classroom.
|
|
Three times a year there are assemblies
for the children to receive awards and to be honored for their achievements.
|
| Three times a year the AR store will be available
for the children to redeem the points they have earned by reading and
taking AR tests. The great thing about the store is that children who
don’t reach the point levels that are recognized at the assemblies
are able to use their points to get something at the store and are
rewarded. Many children save up their points to try to buy items that
require more
points, thus finding more incentive to read.
