Birthday Book Club is a great way to honor your child’s birthday while giving to the school.

Join Dolvin’s Birthday Book Club and celebrate your child’s special day with a book!

Step 1: Head to the Media Center and find the Birthday Book Club binder. The binder contains copies of the covers and descriptions of books that are in stock and ready to be purchased. Select a book that you think your child would enjoy, and take that sheet out of the binder.

If you cannot make it into the Media Center, you may contact Beth Roth at bjkroth@bellsouth.net (770.346.0988). She can help you choose an available book that would be appropriate for your child’s interests and reading level.

Step 2: Complete an order form. Order forms can be found by the Birthday Book Club binder or you can print one now.

Step 3: Write a check for the price of the book. You may want to add $3.00 for a corresponding AR quiz. If the quiz for your selected book is not available yet, you can choose to donate the $3.00 towards another AR quiz. Checks should be made payable to the Dolvin PTA.

Step 4: Turn in the form, book cover copy, and check to the Media Center, or send them in via your child’s backpack in an envelope addressed to the Media Center. Please allow two weeks for the processing of your book.

You may also purchase your own AR book. Print out and complete the order form. Then, bring the book and completed order form to the Media Center. Please allow two weeks for the processing of your book.

On your child’s birthday, the Birthday Book Club volunteer will come to the classroom and present the book. The book will be in the Birthday Book Club Totebag, which also includes a fun goody bag. Your child’s name will be on a nameplate on the inside front cover of the book. The class and the volunteer will sing Happy Birthday (cha! cha! cha!).

Your child will be the lucky first reader of the book. He/she may take the book home and enjoy it. When finished, he/she will return the book to the library to be shelved.
This is a fun way for your child to celebrate his/her birthday and a permanent way to leave a lasting gift with the school.
